The Humans

It’s all about the blood! Fresh, salty and warm. Preferably, straight from a human. But not all of these humans are so eager to have someone put the bite on them — Or are they?

Here’s a quick rundown of the human characters that inhabit the world of THE CALLING vampire series:

  • Diana Reyes: Diana has appeared (and will appear) in every book in THE CALLING Vampire series. She is a heroine of my heart! Diana Reyes is an FBI Agent in the New York City office. Her specialization is psychological profiling.

  • Sebastian Reyes: Sebastian is Diana’s younger brother and was first introduced in DARKNESS CALLS and was the hero in DANGER CALLS. Since those appearances, Sebastian has made cameos in all of the following books in the series.

  • Melissa Danvers: Melissa was first introduced in DARKNESS CALLS and was the heroine in DANGER CALLS. Since those appearances, Melissa has made cameos in all of the following books in the series. Melissa is a physician and Ryder’s keeper.

  • Peter Daly: Surfer Dude meets NYPD Detective to make Peter Daly, a tough, but understanding man thrust into a bizarre underworld thanks to a drive-by shooting in front of a woman’s shelter in Spanish Harlem.

  • Ricardo Fernandez: Ricardo first appeared in TEMPTATION CALLS, but was the hero in DEVOTION CALLS. Ricardo is a psychic healer posing as a santero so that he may help others.

  • Sara Martinez: Sara first appeared in DANGER CALLS, but was the heroine in DEVOTION CALLS. Sara is a nurse who works with Melissa Danvers and is Melissa’s best friend.

  • Alex Garcia: Alex Garcia was Diana’s high school boyfriend and college lover until the death of Diana’s father sends her into the darkness. Now Alex is a DEA Agent in Miami.

  • Ramona Escobar: Ramona first appeared in BLOOD CALLS. I hope to have Ramona appear in other books soon! A gifted artist, Ramona has had a hard luck life until she meets vampire Diego Rivera.

  • Maggie Gonzalez: Maggie is one of Diana Reyes’s best friends, works with her at the FBI and first appeared in DARKNESS CALLS. Maggie has made cameo appearances in DANGER CALLS, DEVOTION CALLS, and DEATH CALLS.

  • David Harris: David is Diana Reyes’s partner and first appeared in DARKNESS CALLS. David made a cameo appearance in DANGER CALLS, but appeared more prominently in DEATH CALLS.
